Properly applied first aid can save lives, reduce recovery time and quite possibly mean the difference between temporary disability and lifelong disability for the victim. This course teaches participants to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information on how to deal with emergencies like bleeding, shock, burns, strains, fractures, allergic reaction, diabetic and seizures is shared. Additional topics include: Bites & Stings; Dental Injuries; and Spinal Injuries. Ideal for first time training or recertification. This course fulfills OSHA requirements for training first aid responders.

 CONFINED SPACE ENTRY AWARENESS

This 4-hour course meets OSHA standard 29CFR1910.146. A confined space has limited or restricted means of entry or exit, is large enough for an employee to enter and perform assigned work, and is not designed for continuous occupancy. These spaces may include, but are not limited to, underground vaults, tanks, storage bins, pits and diked areas, vessels, and silos. It is an OSHA requirement that employers train workers who are required to work in permit-required confined spaces, before the initial work assignment begins. Training is also required for rescue team members, who must also be certified in First Aid and CPR. Students will receive educational material and a certificate of completion.

 Maintenance Of Traffic - Intermediate

Road Closed

Intermediate: This course is required for those who set up, maintain, inspect, or design work zones or traffic control devices. Upon successful completion of this 16-hour course students will receive a laminated wallet card and a certificate of completion. This certification is valid for four years upon which time a refresher course will be required to remain in compliance with FDOT standards. Additionally, IMOT certified personnel may conduct BASIC MOT training.

This course covers OSHA Standards, policies, and procedures in the construction industry. Topics include scope and application of the OSHA Construction Standards, construction safety and health principles, and special emphasis on those areas in construction which are most hazardous. Upon course completion students will have the ability to define construction terms found in the OSHA Construction Standards, identify hazards which occur in the construction industry, locate and determine appropriate OSHA Construction Standards, policies, and procedures, and describe the use of the OSHA Construction Standards and regulations to supplement an ongoing safety and health program.  Powered Industrial Truck-Forklift-Lift Truck

Forklift

OSHA Regulation 1910.178 states that only trained and authorized employees shall be permitted to operate a powered industrial truck (forklift). The United Safety Council offers a certified program that is ideal for new operators as well as experienced ones. The 4-hr program is a basic safety awareness course, which we offer in our facilities, and may be taught on-site. The 8-hr program is taught on-site where familiar surroundings, traffic conditions, and material handling requirements combined with specialized instruction provide your employees with the most effective training possible. Each employee’s skills must evaluate initially and every three years.

 Renovation, Repair and Painting

PainterThe Lead-base Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP) is a federal regulatory program affecting anyone who disturbs painted surfaces where lead may be present. Work done on homes, schools or day care facilities built before 1978, MUST be done by firms Certified by the EPA and who have at least one RRP Certified Renovator as an employee. To comply with the regulatory requirements of this rule you must:

  • Submit an application to the EPA to certify your business/firm which has to be renewed every 5 years.
  • At least one company employee must attend an 8-hour Renovator’s Certification Course and attend a Refresher Course every 5 years.
  • Certified Renovator Course students must demonstrate “hands on” capability and pass a written exam.
  • Provide owners, tenants and child-care facilities with a copy of EPA’s lead hazard information pamphlet, “Renovate Right: Important Lead Hazard Information for Families, Child Care Providers and Schools.”
