In the City of Orlando, these risks include civil citations for possession under 20 grams. The Florida Safety Council is offering Marijuana Awareness Program aka Substance Abuse Diversion Education in cooperation with the City of Orlando. This eight (8) hour class will expose those risks, explore alternatives to using, assist students in determining for themselves how problematic their use actually is. Students will be provided information about assistance available to them, from other organizations. Students will be free to seek out such assistance if they choose after completing the class.
If referred by the City of Orlando to the Marijuana Awareness Program, your tuition can be included in the fines that you pay to the City of Orlando. In order to register for this course and have your fines cover tuition, you must register in person at the Orlando office. You must provide proof that the City of Orlando has ordered you to take the course. You must also provide a valid picture ID. If you do not provide proof of referral you will be charged the full price of $100.
If you are being referred by any other entity, you must pay for the course in full prior to being allowed to take the class.
Classes will be capped at 20 students.
