Purpose of the Juvenile Anger Management Course

The four-hour Juvenile Anger Management course is designed to offer a program of discipline to youthful offenders, and consists of self-evaluating topics and self-reflecting sessions related to anger.  Its purpose is to decrease recidivism of first time offenders, as well as to instill discipline by presenting behavioral alternatives to anger and providing anger control techniques.  It serves as an alternative to the Judges of the Court in lieu of jail and/or prison time, or may be taken voluntarily.  This program can aid Juvenile Probation by serving as a condition order of probation, or as a component of a diversion/prevention program.

Juvenile Anger Management Goals:

The goal of the Juvenile Anger Management course is to decrease recidivism of first-time offenders as well as to educate, equip, and inform offenders of alternative ways of coping with anger and expressing anger in an appropriate manner.  Furthermore, the course serves as a prevention/diversion tool for those participants who have experienced difficulty in coping, controlling, responding, and expressing anger appropriately.  Our goal is to equip the individual with vital tools and techniques that would assist them with handling unfavorable situations properly and effectively.
